Birbington Post #1
Roll For Good returns this May! GM sign ups now open!
Hello! Is this thing on?
Welcome to the very first edition of Birbington Post. This newsletter will deliver the latest Roll For Good updates and announcements straight to your inbox, including a community spotlight.
In today’s Birbington Post we will introduce the faces behind the screens, tell you all about our upcoming May event and about Game Therapy UK, the charity we will be rolling for!
Who We Are
Roll for Good is a UK/EU-based community who use a shared love for tabletop role-playing games to raise funds for charities we care about with an all-volunteer team. Since 2021, we've raised over £10,000 for charities such as World Central Kitchen, Mermaids, and the Palestine Children’s Relief Fund.
Roll for Good is run by a rotating community of volunteers. Assisted by a team of talented moderators, designers and producers, the following four people are currently working on making the May event happen:
Wheeleigh is one of the organisers here at Roll For Good. Wheeleigh likes coffee and telling stories about found family, how people change over time and the circumstances it happens in. Wheeleigh likes sci-fi and Giant Robots and how they represent the walls we build around ourselves, and how they crumble. Wheeleigh writes solo game journal entries and thoughts at tumblr.com/thendrawtwo | ![]() Wheeleigh (he/him) |
Blue is a TTRPG AP performer, Larper and Cosplayer. She's been taking part in Larp (Live Action Role Play) for years: playing, NPCing and helping build various different games in that time. This easily lead into doing ttrpg games and events online. She loves roleplay and character creation with particular interest in sci-fi and horror games. She's a keen advocate for safe gaming spaces in all spheres and she feels that helping out at Roll For Good has been a great way to give back through community. | ![]() Blue (she/her) |
Hedge is a TTRPG AP GM, Producer and player who spends far too much time creating new worlds to set games in. They run the production side of things over here at Roll For Good, quietly striking down the chaos tech gremlins and keeping everything running smoothly. Outside of the TTRPG community, Hedge is a avid gamer playing a variety of different games, but mostly strategy games. Currently Hedge is trying to learn the Pokémon Trading Card Game with mixed results. | ![]() Hedgehawk (he/him) |
Freshtesh first joined Roll for Good back in May 2021 playing a mascot wearing a pizza costume. The mascot left, but Tesh stayed. She has volunteered for the mods and socials and is now responsible for bringing RFG’s freshest content and news to your screens. Guitar teacher by day, all-round nerd by night, Tesh is always ready to spread creativity on the lookout for a good story. Especially if it involves fantastical creatures, epic battles, silly shenanigans or cats. | Tesh (she/her) |
TTRPG charity weekend in May
Great news! On the 17th and 18th of May Roll For Good returns to Twitch for a new TTRPG charity weekender. During six one-shots of various games we will be raising funds for Game Therapy UK, as chosen by our community.
Want to roll for good with us? There are multiple ways you can help:
Run a game! Applications to GM one of the six fabulous one-shots are open until Sunday the 23rd.
Roll your dice on stream! Player sign ups open in about two weeks, keep your eyes peeled for those.
Become a volunteer! Join one of our Discord teams and help out with graphics, producing, comms or twitch moderation.
Share RFG’s content! The fragmentation of social media makes it difficult for us to grow our reach, every like helps.
And of course, join the stream in May! Contribute to the fundraiser by chirping up in chat or simply letting yourself be amazed by the wonderful stories the GMs will be cooking up.
All forms can be found over at rollforgood.carrd.co 💙
Roll For Good prioritizes applicants from marginalized communities, such as but not limited to BIPOC, femme and LGBTQIA+ applicants.
Game Therapy UK
'An innovative, evidence-based approach to address trauma and aid recovery'.
Game Therapy UK is a new and innovative charity set up to promote Therapeutic Gaming in the UK for the public benefit. Game Therapy UK's vision is to ensure an access to all those who would benefit from Therapeutic Gaming. Our core values are trustworthiness, inclusivity, and compassion. Game Therapy UK's activities include supporting the provision of high quality, evidence-based Therapeutic Gaming projects to the UK population across the areas of physical health, mental health and social disadvantage. We will also promote research into, and education of, all aspects of Therapeutic Gaming.
Game Therapy UK work closely with experts across various fields (for example, psychologists, occupational therapists, educationalist, drug and alcohol recovery workers), to reach a wide range of clients.
Community Showcase
Started by a group of charitable Europeans, Roll For Good strives not only to raise money for causes we care about, but also to uplift the voices of the European TTRPG community. Therefore the newsletters will regularly feature a Community Showcase, where the many talented members of our community can shout out the projects they are passionate about.
Want to see your project in the next Birbington Post? Ask your messenger bird to deliver a message to [email protected].

Why We Fight is a 1-5 player solarpunk, narrative, GMless TTRPG about collective resistance in the face of oppression, and planting the seeds of a future where nobody has to "earn" the right to live. Build your Crew of 4 characters from the Community Alliance, a growing movement of eco-punk communities. Discover a world of fresh starts, vibrant communities, and an untamed natural world as you travel through rewilding lands, safe-guard people and nature, and push back against the White Fist, a fascist militia trying to force people back into their dystopian society.

The Misadventurers League is an TTRPG Actual Play channel focusing on highlighting the community within the UK/EU. We run a variety of shows across the year, from a variety of different systems. Currently we are running two campaigns, a Hunter: The Reckoning campaign on Mondays and a Kids on Brooms campaign on Tuesdays!
That’s all for now!
